34: Dave Matthews Band

Dear Dave,

Thank you for your songs. They’re most wonderful. Can you play #41 on the day we’re fated to meet or Crush on my wedding day, if ever I’d have one, in the future?

Love,
Quel

32: CW 198 - Online Writing
I wish the Comparative Lit courses on special topics would be given more regularly. I really wanted to take the other ones (Erotic Lit, Speculative Fiction, Gay Lit…) but I only had one semester left and since I had a light load that sem, I decided to take extra, unnecessary units on a Film course instead which I deeply regretted since the professor was always, always absent. (Picture me watching Battleship Potemkin that literally had no sound. We had to sit through it despite the fact that it wasn’t working properly because it had been *required* by a non-existent prof. I digress.)
Anyway, this one I took was the first and only class I had under the Paolo Manalo, if I remember correctly. I’m the lazy student who never reads - or atleast who never finishes the required reading and he’s known to give a lot of readings. Then again, every CL course requires more than a handful of readings. LOL. Thankfully, this course was way different.
Whenever I think of my CW 198 class, it makes me wish we had more school days then.

25: Banoffee pie from Starbucks
An instant pick-me-upper – the only thing I hate about it is that I could never finish it all by myself. I guess it’s meant to be shared for an added dose of happiness.

15: John Coltrane’s Giant Steps (Animation)

I was amazed when I first saw this and it still blows me away every single time.

5: Kopiko
I’m not exactly a coffee person. It was only at my previous work that I started to become a regular coffee drinker. I’ve heard about how good Kopiko was but I never got to try it until Em sent me several packs last year.
Today, I had to go from two 7-11 stores to Ministop along Emerald Ave. just to get my morning fix. LOL.

4: Jason Mraz

Someone once passed me a stack of books and said enjoy. And when you are done, pass them on for they do not belong to you. They belong to the world. And that is what I am doing with these songs. They are of the world and for the world. -Jason Mraz

There is something about Jason Mraz’s music that leaves me wanting more. There’s so much talent, so much passion, so much creativity pouring out from a single source. I’ve been listening to him since 2003 and I remember dismissing his music at first because you could hear The Remedy playing all over Manila again and again, and I didn’t want any more of it.

Then he released You & I Both and it got me hooked, and it made me dig in to his music and I fell in love with Sleeping to Dream. Everytime I watch him live, I always pray he’d play this. (Four times I’ve seen him, I think he prolly played this once -  perhaps that second time he went to Manila.) It used to be my favorite. Now, looking back - I don’t know which song I love the most.

It’s so easy to fall in love with a Mraz song. It’s like Mraz wrote it for you; it’s like he wrote it for me. Maybe he really did.
